The residential apartments of UP-1-09 B facility, with open terraces and views, communal open plateau with a pool and with flat walkable roofs with swimming pools, is a representative example of the architectural style of residential and commercial unit. The facility is located in Porto Montenegro complex in Montenegrin Tivat, and it is a modern interpretation of local historical buildings and makes a good example of a genuine connection of construction and nature and climate.
In waterproofing aspect, this building represented a superb challenge from the foundation to the roofs – ranging from a large number of water surfaces in the above ground part such as swimming pools and decorative water walls and at the end with a very large number of constructive planters with thick vegetation, large trees and flowers, spread all over the building. Terraces, plateaus, stairwells and flat roofs with all we already mentioned before make an indented structure that had to be rounded in one functional and long lasting waterproofing system. Was the aspect of designing layers of waterproofing system even more complicated then implementing the same ones – we find it hard to answer.
The project characterizes double waterproofing protection based on secondary and primary waterproofing layers, drainage anti-capillary inter-layers, and specially designed and constructed three-zone dotted and line drains. This kind of waterproofing system has increased efficiency and durability, because it provides water, water vapor and condensate discharge form all system layers.
